Elders serve a vital role in Calvary Chapel. They are servant-leaders appointed to guide and protect the church through supporting the senior pastor. Avoiding human hype, elders rely strictly on the Holy Spirit, supporting the systematic, verse-by-verse teaching of God’s Word while caring for the flock with a shepherd’s heart. This workshop will unpack a few of the ways in which this unfolds with many practical examples.

One of the challenges with modern children’s ministry is overcoming the notion that this is just childcare. But how can we encourage our children’s ministry leaders when they do not have a proper viewpoint of the second word “ministry”? This workshop explores a few important ways we can reframe what we do to infuse it with the proper outlook. We also look at practical steps to manage burnout and balance among those who help in this key ministry.
First Corinthians 12:28 mentions administration as a spiritual gift. At the same time, we often hear of people as gifted administrators. What do we mean when we say this? Does natural ability and spiritual gifting overlap? These are some of the important questions surrounding the role of administrators in our churches. This workshop will unpack this along with some ways to work in this capacity through the empowering of the Holy Spirit, whether by gifting or simply finding yourself in an administrative role.
This team building workshop is a time where pastors and ministry teams alike will be able to look at what Scripture says about what a team should look like, and how to implement these principles. We will work through three main points: commitment, community, and communication. There will also be some time for Q&A with Daniel Fisher, Ted Williams, and Dr. Paul Rumrill.

Registration covers all conference sessions, materials, and meals on Monday (Dinner) and Tuesday (lunch and dinner). Coffee will be provided throughout the event.
The cost is $110 per person for the early bird rate. After September 13, the cost will go up to $125. We’ve worked hard to keep the price low while still providing excellent teaching, food, resources, and opportunities for connection.
The conference begins on Monday, October 12, with check-in beginning at 3pm, followed by our opening session at 6:30pm. We’ll wrap up on Wednesday, October 14, at noon after our closing session!

Childcare is available at this year’s conference. The cost is $40 per child, which includes childcare during the the main sessions and workshops. Food for children is also included in the cost.
